About me:

Just moved to Olympia this year and still settling in. If you see me around town taking pictures, feel free to say hello. I may look grumpy and cantankerous, but that's just part of my charm.

Also, if your Olympia-area non-profit organization wants someone to photograph an event or demonstration, I'm may be happy to do it just for the experience and general good will. So feel free to drop me an email.

And if you have a job for an unemployed MLIS student, I wouldn't turn that down either...

Flickr-related stuff:

Founder of Best Viewed Large, Historical Slumming, and the elite coven of Lovecraftian macabre that is The Innsmouth Look.

Also please don't put post group invites or images in your comments on my photos. If you think there's a picture I might be interested in seeing, post the link instead, thanks. I'm a bit OCD about comment clutter.

    Vegan Vixen says:

"It's really good that you're further down the West coast than I am because I've never stalked someone before and I'm sure I wouldn't be very good at it but would find it necessary to follow anyone around who can make vegan cupcakes that pretty *and* knit *and* is vegan. Luckily enough for both of us I'm up here in Canada. All stalking jokes aside- your photos blow my mind- keep 'em coming please!"

    chishikilauren says:

"Brian’s photography should quickly have you realize that each person you view in passing is an enigma. A living, breathing, life within itself. Black and white or color, candid or posed, they possess a life unknown to the masses, a stranger that may or may not be so strange. No person is entirely understood. No one can ever be captured, but each person you pass may very well be your next captured work of art. His photos rely heavily upon personal interpretation, imagination. A do-it-yourself, profound aesthetic. Mystery Science Theatre for intellectuals. Brain damage quickly gives way to Brian damage, and for that you will thank him."

    "It's a matter of style.
I believe Brian's is one of the most interesting, personal and moving flickr photo stream I've seen.
His pictures give such _life_ to the most common and forgettable thing you find around. And this is indeed great.
    So, keep on shooting around!"
