Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County, Inc., is located in McHenry, IL and serves all of McHenry County. The organization served 549 children last year and hopes to continue serving even more children in the future.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County is community supported and is viewed throughout the area as a premier agency in the youth development field.

The organization accomplishes this through education and service activities emphasizing experience-sharing relationships between youth and adults.

Our mission is to help children in need reach their potential through professionally supported Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring relationships that will improve the lives of these children forever.

The quality of our future depends upon the encouragement and support our young people receive today. Therefore, it is the goal of our agency to provide youth the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through enhancing self-esteem, developing decision-making skills, and establishing rewarding friendships with volunteers who are positive adult role models.

The volunteer spends a consistent amount of time with the child each month, engaged in everyday fun activities, building a relationship which is rewarding for both the child and the volunteer.

Our program staff assists the "Matches" in nurturing the most safe and meaningful relationship possible. They answer your questions, provide assistance and support, and keep you informed of Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County happenings and special events.
