Helping YOU Get Youth Outdoors!

In order to do this, BAWT gives training, rents out outdoor gear and transportation, and provides financial support and a community of peers.

We particularly target organizations and schools working with inner-city and at-risk youth.

BAWT provides outdoor leadership trainings, including winter-specific courses, as well as Wilderness Medicine training.

Once someone has participated in our training, they have unlimited and free access to our gear libraries, located in Oakland, Milpitas and San Francisco. Thanks to the city share program, we also rent out our BawtMobiles - minivans enabling teachers to get their youth outdoors.

Youth workers and teachers can also apply to a number of scholarships and minigrants, covering the cost of training and the cost of supplies for trips respectively.
