"Ducking for apples. Change one letter and it's the story of my life." -- Dorothy Parker.

I'm a recently retired Silicon Valley IT manager, which puts me on a karmic path to be reincarnated as an insect. Ah well. This life is good and I intend to keep documenting it -- at least what remains of it -- with commentary as needed, so that my offspring can see what I saw in the world.

Well that's the plan, except I have no offspring. Jim and I only have a cat, Charlie, who shows no interest in photography. So my pleasure is limited. But I do get a thrill whenever visitors leave witty comments or ask if they can use one of my pictures as wallpaper for their desktop :)

If you are interested, here are six random things about my deep dark past.

Anyway, I'm off to entertain the internet on ALL CITY. Check it out if you get a chance.

Signed,
Bats

P.S. Dear Flickr Admins -- Thank you for calling me a "pro" just because I paid you $25. If I give you another $25, can I get "doctor" added to my title? Thanks.

P.P.S. Dear Flickr Admins -- Also thank you for teaching me how to say "hello" in 30 different languages. Can I have an option for international swear words? I'd pay another $25 just for that. Thanks.

P.P.P.S. Dear Flickr Admins -- Google has over 1.1 million matches for "Cure for Hiccups." Please do a search.

"bats... doesn't have any testimonials yet.

    Really?

    What?

    How did that not happen?

So i just wanted to say that, If, one day, i can muster something that looks as sharp and detailed and full of life as anything that Bob takes... then i'll be a happy man."

    Ed Brodzinsky says:

"I find it rather astonishing that a cool dude like Bob doesn't have any flickr testimonials yet. I've been an admirer of and commenter on his photography for some time. And having recently been fortunate enough to have met him and to have spent some time with him photographing his fair city, I can confirm that he's the same knowledgeable, urbane, and witty guy who appears here with his work for all of us to enjoy. And it's no wonder that his photostream contains, in addition to some of the best photographic work around, some of the best repartee and intelligent conversation on flickr. Cheers, my friend."
