story.teller's photostream |
Right now, I'm somewhere between lost and found.
Don't try to fit me in a box, I won't fit.
I've been a lifelong observer, I like to observe and absorb life as it passes me by, everything interests me, and I think you'll find this true if you look through my stream :-) Specially, little things, ordinary/familiar things in our mundane routine fascinate me. Probably because I've always been a wallflower...and have felt like I'm a part of them at times. It's not a sad thing, trust me...it's utterly wonderful to converse with beauty.
I like to weave stories from the images before me, the images in my head, and the images that are forming in between. I hope you'll like at least a few scattered about :-)
** Most of my pictures are made private to my 'friends' and you won't see it even if you are on my contacts list. If you want to see them, please let me know.
*** And not to be mean or anything, but I will not add you if you don't have any pictures in your stream. It makes me think of you as some kind of creep/stalker type ;)

Ifty Amin says:
"Ambreen is unlike any other photographer I know. Very few people have her innate gift for finding the beautiful - even fewer know how to put it in a frame - and fewer still have the gift of making you feel the story behind it. And off hand, I can think of nobody else who can weave her kind of labyrinthine magic with images and words.
She's also one of the few photographers I know who I've met in person, and she's a delight to be around. She's huge heaps of fun, immensely creative, excellent company - and yet, ever so often, she'll fade into the background, listening or not, slipping into her own version of the world and occasionally bringing back pieces of slices here and there, leaving you not in awe but in wonder.
I could go on - about her impeccable taste, her rich, deep comments, etc, etc, but those are beside the point. Those are not things that define what she is - they're like little bits of garnish, and are wholly irrelevant to the person beneath.
There are very few people who I'm truly friends with on flickr, or in real life, even. I'm glad to say that she's one of them =)"21st January, 2010

"Batedbreath - for a person, and for a photographer of her height - words would definitely be useless to describe how much inspiring she has been. When I started posting regularly on Flickr she was the first Female Bangladeshi Photographer who really amazed me. Her exquisite looks at simple minimalistic things and her ability to create magical bokeh-filled picture never ceases to surprise me.
A lady with exceptionally GREAT talent - I wish her all the best in her life and hope that she never stops Clicking ! :)"29th September, 2008

"I just realized the comment I was composing, sounded a little bit like a testimonial. I decided that it should be. At the risk of repeating myself, and maybe it bears repeating, this is one of the most satisfying and unique streams I have come across. I find it hard to even pick favorites. There is just something organic in your style, I just don't know any other way to describe it."

"Just wanted to say I really enjoy looking at your newest uploads when they pop up on my homepage, so thanks :) I'm not much of an arty photographer, but you have some really powerful images in your stream. Looking forward to seeing more in the future!"

"You may have heard, she has been crowned the queen of bokeh. But have you heard, that she is also the princess of textures? Do not be intimidated by her highness though. She is sweet and supportive, fun and creative. Her stream is always a pleasant browse with fresh ideas.
Did I tell you, she is also obsessed with doors, windows, walls and other things of that sort?
Best wishes for you, Ambreen =)"21st May, 2008

"There are some people who can take a good photo. Some who can capture a slice of life. Others who can tell a good story, not just with their photographs, but with tack-sharp titles and descriptions.
Ambreen can do it all, and is a dab-hand with a paint brush too!
I always enjoy seeing Ambreen's latest shots pop-up in my contacts stream. I know that I'm going to get something out of clicking through and seeing the full-size treat.
But there's more than just one-way appreciation. As anyone who's posted a photo in the Life Thru A Lenz group knows, getting a comment from batedbreath means getting a genuine and well-thought out critique which is always honest and full of humor.
Ambreen is the total flickr package!"15th January, 2008

"ambreen's stream is filled with the little details of her life, the sharp angles and the soft edges, memories forever frozen in time. looking through her stream one can get almost lost. but lost as in wandering down a street you've never been before and you can't believe you hadn't found it sooner. beautiful work."

"Wandering with Ambreen's stream led me to emphasize on her versatility. I believe that to be a photographer one has to have the ability to see things rather than watch or view. I think it is the innate property of most of her shots- they speak louder than words. One can just stray and then put the coin in the slot- he/she gets the message.
& of course, her comments increase adrenaline of a photographer as she makes constructive criticism- which is very helpful for a photographer to augment more creativity in future.
Nice to have such a comfy lady as a friend."6th January, 2008

"Besides possessing an incredible eye for composition and color, Ambreen / batedbreath is one of the most thoughtful commenters you'll find on flickr. Every time she says something about an image, you can bet she's actually taken the time to look at it and form a coherent opinion before writing what she feels in her unmistakably candid and quirky voice.
The quality of her shots already speak for themselves, but watch out - this girl's a fast learner and it won't be long before she figures out how to exploit her equipment to match her talent with impeccable execution."26th December, 2007

"Ambreen, no match with any Bangladeshi, even in some case, many other female photographer I know. She has a brilliant piece of eye through view finder, and that is improving everyday, with every take. The most interesting part of her photography and to me, which is making the difference, is her experiments with the equipment and the subject.
I am anxiously waiting to see the best takes of her. The day….is not…too far!!"22nd December, 2007
