My Kevin Bacon level is 2. I live in the glorious and small college town of Carbondale, Illinois. I was born in Illinois, graduated from college in Illinois, had my first apartment in Illinois, and I imagine I'll retire and die in Illinois. It's the best state ever.

I live with my boyfriend, Andy, and we play a lot of video games. Our first date was over Xbox Live. We are nerdshoes. We're getting married November 14th, 2009. There may be photos of this event.

The boring facts: I teach high school English. It is even less exciting than you are imagining. I graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in English literature, which I picked because I like to read and talk about books. I'm currently attending Southeast Missouri State University, working toward getting my teacher's certification. I like pizza, and my favorite beer is Schlafly Pale Ale. My favorite animal is the domesticated dog.

I'm not really a photographer, but I masquerade as one at parties. That's if you invite me to a party, of course. You don't usually catch me without a camera, and a lot of my shots are lousy. I think the key to being a good photographer is to take a lot of photos. One of them is bound to look good.

I watch movies, read books, play video games, fiddle with computers, and take pictures. My existence is a simple one. I collect dictionaries and reference books. My existence is a boring one. My Macintosh power is strong.

Sometimes I define myself by my fandoms, which would make me a Trekkie, a Jedi, a Browncoat, a Jaffa, an Xphile, a Patient Demon, a Rowdy Mouse, a Lone Gunman, and a Combine. I am probably even more things than those.

I'm not an art photographer, although I believe they exist because I saw one in the wild. I love to document the world around me through photos, and if you dig what I'm seeing, then let's be pals.



My camera is a Canon EOS 350D. I have a few lenses, a tripod, and a few poorly-rigged gadgets of my own design.
