My goal is to make images that pull the viewer into a scene by finding a subject, composition, lighting and way of processing that all work together. I am not interested in simply documenting what I see but rather images that inspire and create a connection. It is equally important to me that a photograph is truthful, not manipulated, and represents the scene in which it was created.

One thing I realized fairly quickly is the technical side of photography, while important, is less significant than the ability to adapt as light shifts and fleeting moments vanish. For me photographing is full of movement and seeking out options as a scene changes.
The fact that compelling photos are rare combined with the permanency of a great shot gives meaning to the effort they require. Bringing back an image that represents what I’ve experienced and being pushed into those experiences as part of the pursuit adds another dimension of purpose to my life.
