I have been into photography for as long as I can remember starting with a Minolta snapshot camera and eventually starting my 35+ year love affair with Canon cameras with my Canon AE1. I eventually added a Canon A1. Between the long lens (70-210) I had and the potato masher flash (Sunpak) I was all set.

Many years passed before digital hit.

My first digital was a Fuji. It takes nice pictures but it could not compare to my film cameras. Two of the things I take pictures of, dance recital and weddings/receptions, I just could not take pictures of.

Eventually I settled in on my Canon Digital Rebel XT and fell in love all over again. Add quality Tamron 28-75 F2.8 and a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 lenses and a 430 Speedlight that I am learning to use and that is where I am now.

NOTE: I side stepped here. I just purchased a Canon SX100IS point and shoot camera. It will not take the photos my XT can but I wanted to have a camera I could easily take with me where ever I go. So far I am enjoying the little guy a lot.

A second camera body, possibly a Canon Digital Rebel XSi, is in my near future and I am sure more lens like a 50 F1.8 as I would love to try my had at portrait photography. Other than that a slightly nicer than snapshot camera would be nice for the times I do not feel like pulling out my DSLR. Yes, I would say I am addicted to photography.

I love taking pictures of what ever my niece is involved in. That would include basketball, soccer, volleyball, ice skating, dance and cheerleading. I also love taking pictures of weddings and wedding receptions. Candid pictures of people is often very rewarding. I guess that is just an extension of people watching. I enjoy landscape photography but have not concentrated much on this.
