I am a retired clerk from the railway operating department in the West Midlands.
I have been taking railway photographs for over 50 years. The early shots were taken with my fathers Box Brownie. My first camera was a Kodak Cresta, then I was given the Box Brownie which I left behind at Newton Abbot one summer never to be seen again. I borrowed a Selfix 12-20 from my aunt until I could afford a new camera. I bought my Voightlander Vitomatic IIIb in 1965 and later a Nikon Nikkormat FTN.
I now have a Fujifilm Finepix E550 (that fits in my pocket) and also a Panasonic Lumix DMC G1 and a new GH2.

All of the photos are taken by me (except for the handful that are of me) and I own the copyright. However, I welcome people to download any of my images that they may want, as long as they are purely for their own personal non-profit use. If anyone does make any money out of them, I suggest that a donation to a charity such as Macmillan or Cancer Research UK would be welcome.

"Bill has certainly captured many tremendous, quality images of steam long forgotten. Like Steve, they evoke so many memories of childhood and youth. Maybe in 'the next world' we can choose an era to which to return and without a doubt Bill's pics fill me with a certainty of where I want to go :)

Well done Bill, keep 'em coming :)"
