I'm middle-aged and married with no children, I find that time is passing me by too quickly and I want to slow it down a bit and capture the most memorable moments of my life with a photograph. I harbor no secret aspirations to be a professional because I recognize that my creativity is quite limited compared to most folks. I just want to be able to capture great images of the everyday things and people in my life.

My new Canon Powershot SX10 IS is supposed to arrive today, Wednesday, February 10, 2010. It is replacing the Fujifilm Finepix 3800 as my primary camera, which will now be my back-up. If health and finances permit, I aspire to a Nikon D300 in the next year or so, camera model subject to change without notice :-). I would like to be able to shoot birds in flight and that camera is very often what has been used to take the better of those kinds of shots.

Unless otherwise noted, all of my pictures are straight out of the camera (SOOC). The only ";enhancements" I might make will be to crop, frame, or "sign" them. Right now I'm more interested in learning about the basics of photography. There are some things I'd like to do at some future date, like storybooks, but for the most part, I don't expect to have much focus on 'processing" for awhile.
