Hi, I am Anne Santos and in 2006 I thought Balsall Common could do with a U3A to liven up the expanding village. A postcard in the library showed there was a definite interest. I offered to Chair a Steering Committee and Peter Westlake joined me as Treasurer and Peter Driffield as Secretary. Now in 2008 we have a full Executive Committee 120 members and 21 interest Groups and at the end of 2008 we start a Philosophy Group... It has been hard work setting this up but very worthwhile. A good friendly group and we are always ready to take new members - our maxim is 'whilst age is mandatory - growing old isn't'.
