My name is Dan Baillie I grew up in Southend on Sea in Essex, but later left the bright lights of the city to live in the wilds of Wigtownshire in south west Scotland. I live in with my wife, two boys and three dogs and I discovered Flickr on 31 July 2008.

I first became interested in Photography when my Dad gave me a 35mm SLR (Praktica MTL5B) for my fourteenth birthday. I later upgraded to Canon EOS 5 bodies and lenses. With the digital revolution I switched to Nikon and have rarely looked back. Twenty two years later, I run my own photography business, Baillie Photography.

I currently use a range of Nikon DSLRs. I prefer to take my photographs with natural lighting where possible. I protect my copyright so whilst I hope that you enjoy my pictures, if you would like to use any please contact me.

    Dan is nothing at all like the puddock in this poem. Well, perhaps he's got a right to be proud and big-headed like the puddock, because he is excellent at photography and at matching words and verses to his shots -- but, to the contrary, he doesn't gloat about it in the least.
