OUR FIRST TRIP STARTS AUGUST 2008 IN HONDURAS!

BACKPOD IDEA
To examine issues affecting Central America, Backpod will act as a global lens by documenting the work of non-profit organizations that serve populations across the region.

As skilled designers, filmmakers, photographers, journalists, and travelers, we will venture through Central America with only our packs and cameras. We will backpack to each partner organizations’ location, where we will work to fully understand the work of the organization and document the experience. We hope to encourage a global mindset in our audience and ourselves. We will highlight the topics that are of importance to our partner organization, presenting the information in an honest and real way for our viewers.

Global Brigades, located in Honduras, is a secular charitable organization that empowers students and professional volunteers to provide communities in developing nations with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture. GB vision is to become the largest student-led social movement on the planet.

In 2007, nearly 1,000 of GB volunteers from more than 50 university campuses, delivered health care and micro enterprise solutions to nearly 40,000 people in Central America – and we want to see them in action!
