I enjoy taking pictures as a hobby. I'm a volunteer photographer for Friends of the Wissahickon which means i take pictures of the people sweating their butts off! It's a lot of fun and i feel like i improve each time i go.

Getting a good camera has suddenly enhanced my photographic skills by a lot. A friend asked me recently "have you taken photography classes?" and i said no, that i just got a new camera. It helps a lot, it does most of the job. And then the rest is just about being at the right place at the right time, kind of like life.

I try to take journalistic kinds of pictures. Meaning i don't want people to pose, or animals to pose either, but just be themselves, which the latter usually are. I enjoy taking random pictures of people mostly, that i feel are representative of the spirit of the day. I love history and i feel that by taking pictures i will keep a little bit of history alive and be some kind of historian, with pictures rather than words. If some of them turn out great, great, and if they don't, well they'll only help me get better.

I like pictures because of how they make me feel when i see them but mostly because of how they make me feel when i take them. So it's all that matters to me, that i remember the feeling of the moment and share it with others.
