Aylwin Lek | Photography Blog 2011's photostream |
Aylwin is a Singapore-based independent photographer. Growing up, he was exposed to cameras, photography and even videography. From film to even the quintessential Polaroids, he was always taking pictures in parks and attractions during festive occasions.
Being exposed to photo-taking from a young age, this naturally developed into an affinity for photography. Aylwin still holds dear vivid memories of his first film camera, a Pentax Zoom which he would carry around everywhere taking shots of landscapes, objects and people. Then, as a student with limited finances, it was a pinch in the pocket whenever his photos did not turn out well. But that made him determined to improve his proficiency, feeling immense joy and satisfaction when the shots came out great.
Thereafter, Aylwin progressed to using one of the earliest digital cameras in the market - a 3.2 megapixel Canon PowerShot S20 and stayed with digital compact cameras until a friend opened his eyes to the world of DSLR! He is now a proud owner of two Canon EOS DSLR cameras and other related equipment. As both technology and time evolves, so has Aylwin's technique and style.
While he is keen to develop his skills and technique in all aspects of photography, Aylwin takes particular interest in portraits, products and landscapes. He has contributed to some local magazines, event shoots and has also been commissioned for several commercial projects.
