  "I'm not a photographer, but I am a photo retoucher and an artist of sorts, and I find John's photos to be quite artistic and transcendent. I like how John makes me view things differently, or just captures the beauty, or horror, of his subjects. His portraits of others often reflect much personality, and his still life photos are always unique. His landscapes are majestic and his timing is impeccable. John has found his calling. The only problem I have with his photography is that I don't know what he looks like anymore; there is always a camera in front of his face."

  "I always look forward to seeing what is new on his photostream. His style is so different from my own, much more reserved and careful and I think it shows in his work. His captures feature the subtle that many of the rest of us miss, from making basement pool tables in the student union building look like works of art, to bringing out the beauty of everyday people, to finding the interesting/amazing in things like a slab of concrete and a puddle. I am always astounded by his vision, thankful he shares it with flickr and remain inspired."
