I was born in Biskupstungur (rural South-Iceland) in 1960 and brought up on my parents' greenhouse farm there.
I've a BA degree from University of Iceland and MA in philosophy from Brown University in New England.
Since 1986 I have worked at Fjölbrautaskóli Vesturlands, the secondary school in Akranes West-Iceland, first as a teacher and since 2001 as vice principal.
I'm married to Harpa Hreinsdóttir and we have two boys, Máni (born 1985) and Vífill (born 1991).
My publications include traslations of John Locke and David Hume, books and papers on philosophy, and textbooks on computer programming.
I'm interested in poetry, education, social issues, philosophy, and, of course, photography.
