Atlanta Business League (ABL) was established in 1933 as an affiliate of the National Business League which was founded by Dr. Booker T. Washington.

Serving the role as minority business developer and advocate, the Atlanta Business League seeks to provide economic empowerment and business development opportunities for minorities throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area with specific emphasis on the development of African-American businesses.

The Atlanta Business League fosters the growth, creation and development of successful business enterprises owned, operated and managed by African-Americans in metropolitan Atlanta.

In the quest of African-Americans and other ethnic minorities to achieve economic balance, the Atlanta Business League specifically:

- Serves as an advocate for its members and the African-American business community;
- Develops relevant policy initiatives which afford access to increased business opportunities; and
- Implements creative and innovative programs which foster economic empowerment.
