On the Difference Between Snapshots and Photography: Though on the surface, a photograph is a way to document our world, it begs to be greater than the raw sensory data received by the camera. Through framing and filters and crops and adjustments, the photographer takes a moment in time and creates something new out of the mundane.
On Licenses: I've been changing the licenses on my photographs to traditional copyrights on account of the number of times I—like so many Flickr users—have had my content stolen without attribution. To the people who do that, you're the reason we can't have nice things.
