With a congregation of 2,300 people, Asbury First is the largest United Methodist church in the Rochester area. The church is noted for the quality of its music programming. The Asbury First Dining and Caring Center serves 24,000 meals annually; the Asbury First Storehouse provides free clothing, kitchenware, and bedding to more than 6,000 persons each year. Located in the East Avenue Historical District, the church features several notable buildings, including the 1953 gothic Sanctuary, and the Wilson Soule House, one of Rochester’s finest examples of Richardsonian Romanesque style.
