Digitally altered images

Lake Yunoko

I live in the suburbs of Tokyo. I take scenery photos with my camera while driving around the Kanto region. In Kanto, I love Oku-nikko (the depths of Nikko National Park) in Tochigi Prefecture, Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens located on an urban center in Tokyo, and Choshi Fishing Port at the mouth of the Tonegawa River.

I started uploading my photos to Flickr on 12th December, 2006. Most of my photos before the day are small. I opened a website on 22nd March, 1997 and put the set of old photos on my site in 1999. "Is Kanto large or small?" is the title of my digital album.

I think that every photo is the modified or altered image. The selection of the lens and the setting of aperture are nothing less than processing it. The use of the photo processing software merely is the additional setting after having released the shutter. Therefore, regardless of my using of a photo-software, I often use the words "an original image" for the meaning of being close to my actual impression, and use the words "a modified image" for the meaning of being apart from the impression.
