too heavy to lift, too painful to shed
Long tarnished with salt water
Gathered at the base of her heart
In the moonlight she ascends
Her wings lifted high on its steps
And rather the world to swallow her whole
Lifts her high above its skin
The oceans try to echo her sadness
Waves reach to meet her dry cheeks
She forces them down with a smile
Gathers all heaven around her..
Ceases to be, and becomes.
