Thank you for your interest in this art project. Below you'll find the original description as we went online with this flickr stream in 2008 and started our artists over 55 group. The group is still active and we encourage you to stop by and explore the fantastic variety of work. This stream will remain as future workshops and projects begin to add fresh work and continue our art making activity.

START to notice, expand, engage, revise, enter new territory, test the waters, change direction, challenge yourself, experiment, and see.

Art Jam 55+ is a collaboration between a visual artist and a group of first time drawers, hesitant painters and curious imaginations in Nebraska USA. The participants started August 1, 2008 and will meet every Friday 9:30-11:00 until Sept. 26, 2008.

The artist will incorporate this online space as a companion to the workshop and as a digital sketchbook of sorts to trigger ideas, explore the fusion of live studio work with digital and share content in a new way. All contacts and groups that become part of this project will be respected as new creative sources and springboards to the life and work of other artists...old and young. Thank you for letting us include you in art jam 55+.

You can watch the creative process unfold here. This isn't just about one person teaching but everyone being engaged in creativity and artful actions.The process not only reveals itself as the artist works with each 55+ year old participant in the studio but in the collaboration experience as well. The participants have just as much to teach and share as anyone and the interest comes from how they'll choose to find their expressive voice and view of the world. What new options will they find? What will they begin to notice around them and how will they use it to add to their work? Everything is completely interrelated and will be interesting to watch evolve.
