The Artery was established in 1991and has worked
extensively both here and abroad
on mosaics, murals and multi media, environmental and garden design projects.

Cassy Healey, an established environmental consultant and artist, runs the Artery and her own work can be found in found in many private collections. Cassy has lived and worked in Wales for 18 years and has won several awards for her art including a fellowship from the Millennium Awards Commission for her work in the community.

Amongst other things Cassy designed one of the stage sets for the Millennium Dome, can drive a 20 tonne dumper truck and led a team of volunteers to Romania where they repaired and muraled an orphanage. Cassy has been featured on both television and radio for her community work, forest food skills,worm charming habits and most recently she was shown enthusing and perusing Cardiffs woodlands with Iolo on his Iolo's Wild Wales show!

Cassy offers environmental consultancy services as well as teaching and training in both art and craft, her diverse experience of arts and crafts skills and practical knowledge of the environment make her an asset to any
arts / craft / environmental based project.

Cassy originally trained as an artist but has since worked in education, play development, sustainable development and arts development for both Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan Councils. Cassy spent several years as a ranger in Cardiff’s parks managing 80 woodlands and open spaces for one of the greenest cities in Britain.


The Artery has over 15 years experience in environmental work.We work with both adults and children from
all walks of life and of all abilities.

We mainly work on community and schools projects and have run large-scale events catering for thousands, as well as one to one work with individuals. We run both short and long courses in a diverse range of art, craft and environmental topics.

We will plan, design, and execute your project
at school, work or home.

We offer short and long courses, INSET days,
advice, management and consultancy.

We offer garden/playground design, mosaics, murals, living willow,ceramics, sculpture, glass and much more!

Whatever your budget we have a project to suit it.
Every activity is designed for you and your
group’s specific needs and abilities.

We have a strong environmental policy and use recycled or reclaimed materials wherever possible. All timber is from sustainable forests and paints are water based except where the customer requests otherwise.

We never use peat based products and source our supplies from local producers wherever possible.
