Thanks for the 70000+ views !!

Will not be posting photos regularly for sometime. I have too many academic responsibilities to care for at this moment. However, I will try to sneak out for a shoot or two.

I am a physicist, who is mostly concerned with the question 'how a large collection of objects work?' I could be microscopic entities like molecules or cells, or people interacting in a social network, or agents trading in a financial market.
Photography is just a hobby I had been infected with in recent years.

I love to travel, see places and feel the vibe of different cultures
... and proud to be an Indian.

Inspirations: Claude Renault, for his colorist view of Indians, and Sohrab Hura, for his Magnum photojournalism in monochrome.

United Nations' cry for water -- see the image gallery.
You can see the favorites: my own and also those from others.
There are certain things I prefer to shoot over others, clay, water and the flower market top this list :) I have an affinity for crowds and their movement. I try to work on my sharpness (which is awfully bad!) for street shooting, whenever I get a chance. I love to see things differently, both from myself, as well from others. I always try to show as different things as possible, attempting different genres and styles, and a variety across culturally different subjects.

I prefer images with original framing and minimum edit, and HDR is not palatable for me.
Lets keep things simple and honest.

"It takes only a few minutes surfing the gallery of Arnab to understand that he has the talent of a big photographer in fast ascent to higher goals. It wouldn't surprise me if one day I'll find a book with his photos. He shows a bit of everything in the world that is aesthetically atractive but what I really love in his work is the way he shots daily life on the streets. He frequently tries new approaches achieving surprising results and he has the technique to go further."

"What can I say about Arnab, his photostream speaks for itself.

He is a child hood friend of mine, but it is only in last few years that he has opened up this world that he sees through the lens. And what a world it is, colors running wild, fragments of life frozen for a moment on his camera before moving on. Always experimenting, trying out new things, he is continuously pushing himself, the result is a photostream that sparkles, draws you in and makes you want more!!

Lastly, Arnab's been a major inspiration behind me picking up the camera again and (re)starting on my own photographic journey.
Thanks mate, and keep showing us the glimpses of the wonderful world we live in !!"

    "Arnab,
Thanks for adding me as a 'contact'.Your move gives me an opportunity to post a testimonial which I otherwise could not have done.

I find some of the fotos of your 'water' series fascinating.

Your potraits are of a different nature. The photographer in you is like a writer .. writing both essays and poems !

    Your portrayals of life:

One of the eyes is -
    Close to our lives,
    Rooted in the soil.

    You remind us about people
    Who toil throu' endless chores.

    The other beholds-
    Far away scenes,
    Eternal flow,
..... of life, time and spirit.

Very good Arnab, keep it up!"
