Welcome to Timequest

In a word Timequest = diversity. I like working to contrasts in style/theme/colour and I try to aim for the next session being completely different to the last one. Some areas of work covered in the past professionally include:

Stock photography, competitions, landscape, digi art, web-art, weddings, parties, portraits, model shoots, album design, book cover design, architecture, abstract, local council events.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside many great people across the world, notably in New Zeland and the USA, including bands and poets and my work has also covered other areas of magazine production including journalism (mainly specialist music, social history and occasionally politics).

After a break and with new equipment from 2012 I would like to get back in to live photography but now with a focus on big bands and productions after a lot of experience with the local music scene.

I am always interested in collaborations and in the first instance I can be contacted here.

In one way or another I look to develop each year by adding something new creatively. In March 2012 I started work on a new sound project under the name of The Oracle, inspired by an art project that I was involved in a couple of years ago for respected horror writer Shaun Jeffrey, The Kult.

As is quite evident in a lot of work I have a particular fondness for reflection and symmetry, the latter I think is a result of being a great lover of ancient Egypt art and culture.

If there is a way of doing things differently then I will always try to find it through a sometimes unique observation and total awareness of my surroundings at a given moment. I occasionally do normal (which I tend to sell as stock photography) but would rather be remembered for obscuirty and a without limits approach to photography.

I'm never afraid to get into some rather awkward, obscure and sometimes embarassing positions to get the shots I really want. I hate regrets and missed opportunities.

I would never say my work is right or correct, nor would I ever force my work work onto others. It is there as always for consideration.

I tend to write less about images produced as I feel the work should speak for itself without explanation. For the typical holiday/travel type snaps I usually include a geotag.

My two inspirations in art and photography are Salvadore Dali and Kate Bush, both of whom have had a major impact on my life in many ways, and not just a creative level.

Another more recent band Dream Aria (Canada), introduced to me back in 2006 at Myspace have also had this effect on me and were instrumental in getting some of my artwork out to a larger audience, through two album cover and artwork package projects. With an understanding of print run, desktop publishing and proofreading from 2011 I am able to offer full design solutions for albums. For further information just pm here.

All work is now copyright but selections available on other sites through various forms. As a resort images uploaded here are thumbnails and reduced in quality over the originals. Every photo and/or art exists at least in 20" x 20" square format with a lot of work available at least double that size.

We all have to make a living these days without exception and although I have offered more than fair amount of work for free in the past unfortunately I am no longer able to - things cost and as simple economics dictates money has to come in from somewhere - as a result everyone has a right to be paid for their work these days.
