Sean is the self-professed "PhotoGuru", a commercial photographer and author specializing in adventure, lifestyle, nature, and travel; for ad, corporate, and editorial clients.

He’s had freelance and contracted assignments with over 250 publications and 125 companies worldwide including American Express, Backpacker, California Division of Tourism, CNBC.com, Endless Vacation, Fuji Film USA, GEO Germany, Microsoft, National Geographic Adventure and Traveler, The New York Times, Nikon Inc., The North Face, Outside, Random House, REI, Timex, Sunset, Via magazine, and Woodbridge wines.

Sean is also producing a television show entitled Photoguru with Sean Arbabi, and authored the popular book The BetterPhoto Guide to Exposure, currently in the top 50 photo books since it's January 2009 publishing date (through Amphoto/ Random House). His new book, The Complete Guide to Nature Photography hits bookstores and websites worldwide in December 2011.

A native Californian, he received his B.A. in Commercial photography from Brooks Institute in ‘91, began his business thereafter combining outdoor, on-location, and studio photography.

To date he’s shot over a million images, written numerous articles, and currently working on a tv show on photography. He shoots in 120mm medium format and 35mm, film and digital, and has traveled around much of the US, and international locations including Canada, Mexico, the UK, Southeast Asia, and South America.
