I'm an amateur photographer, and take photos for myself - though I'm prepared to share!

I dive frequently and have for many years. Dive #3,000 isn't too far away. Started taking UW photos in 07 using a Canon A620 and canon housing, drowned that camera, bought a canon a640 and housing, later adding an Ikelite DS-51 strobe to the set up. I've just bought a Canon G11 and a wet macro lens. I've been offered some great advice and encouragement from members of the Flickr community that I really appreciate. Please feel free to comment and offer constructive advice on how I can take a better photo or use my camera more effectively.

I dive with my daughter, Hinako, who completed her OW in December '08 in Borneo (though she has been diving since she was 5!) She now takes UW pics as well and says nudibranchs and Christmas Tree worms are her favourite critters. She has started her own flickr account under the nom de plume "Aqua Poop"... A long story involving a dive boat and no toilet...

I'm in desperate need of a new wetsuit at the moment since tearing a huge hole in my last one, so diving has slowed down a bit this winter; I'm using a 20 year old two piece beaver-tail suit that isn't comfortable or warm. However, home renovations, eradicating termites and an end of year trip to the Philippines is keeping me in the beaver-tail a little longer.

I've been busy putting photos up on a new flickr site. I take school students to Borneo for 3 week ecological expeditions and this site is a place for students and staff to post their photos.
