Simply myself.

Most of my photographic work can be seen at my website:
www.aqs-theconcept.com

While aQs` is the main thing, Flickr provides me a vast opportunity to witness some of the finest photographic artwork from all over the globe and in turn a very gratifying learning experience that lives on my mind and opens up new vistas for me.

Besides Flickr for me is like a 'Hujra' that affords me the chance to sit with like-minded fellows and have some 'dil-peshori' :) It's a shame that when we are at it, Flickr simply can't serve us with 'qahwa' and 'sheer-chaye', boht of which are integral parts of a Hujra and Pushtoon/Peshawari culture.

Pakistan in general and Peshawar/N.W.FP in particular are a matter of love affair for me. Hindko and Pushto being the bloodlines of this affair, it's rather a phenomenon that I just can't resist.

I don't claim to be a photographer, my work is just nothing compared to the portfolio of even an average real photographer here. Photography like other subjects, is a whole discipline, a field and a process that requires a great deal of knowledge and experience to nail it right. But then again Photography is an art and it's fun and that means I can frequently break the rules. Rule-breakers are often the trendsetters which am not claiming to be anyways. As one of my respectful friends here (Noor Khan) cleverly stated, "I am not a photographer but i have been in and at beautiful places with a camera". I couldn't agree more - it's all about the time and the moments and the inspiration/motivation and most importantly life itself. But inspiration and motivation, as blue and desolate as it may feel, remain scarce these days - don't jump in often! People still manage to get a supply of unfake'ness, well somehow. I need to to get lessons.

I am of the opinion that digital has made life easier for a common man like myself. Taking better than average photos ain't that tough these days. But I still love film for it's unique soul and character that ruled the world for quite a long while. This love can be easily witnessed as a defined style in most of my photos specially the portraits, I just try to achieve that distinctive mood and tone of the Black & White and high speed Color films.

I doubt someone would read up this far but if you have mistakenly and unintentionally done this favor to me and come along down the lane, do give me a buzz and say a casual 'hi', I won't mind :)

Please don't forget to pay me a visit at www.aqs-theconcept.com for more photos and their high-res versions and leave comments whenever possible.

Thanks for stopping by.
