I write and paint at Apifera Farm, under the watchful eyes of my Dirt Farmer, and a group of creatures that act as daily muses. The donkeys have pie parties, the goats plan major escapes, the senior pygmies have opinions. Chickens run free, and the Pug with One Eye ages in splendor. A horse takes me on freedom rides, and two chocolate labs have tails that need liability insurance. The Cats of Apifera are aging, but still are with us even if the colony is down to 12.
