Lawyer, Public Defender, Semi-Pro Photographer, and all around nice guy.

I've always sort of messed around with photography off and on over the years, but mostly with point & shoot film cameras as a kid and digital as an adult. I "upgraded" to a DSLR in 2008, then "backgraded" (as opposed to "downgraded") to film SLRs over the past several years. The flexibility of SLRs allowed me to try different things and experiment more. I shoot with just about everything now (iPhone, P&S, SLRs, TLRs, and recently, a view camera), mostly because I like trying different types of cameras. I have been developing my own B&W film for the past few years now and trying to learn as much as I can about how to get the results I'm looking for in a photo. Overall, I've just been enjoying a hobby that is part art and part science and seeing how it changes the way I look at the world.

I feel the biggest connection to Ansel Adams' and Galen Rowell's works, followed by Pete Turner, Harry Callahan, Margaret Bourke-White, and lately, the discovery of Saul Leiter and Vivian Maier.

My Better Half, the Photographer (by Anthony J.T.)

Among several Flickr groups, I admin the "One Rokkor Around The World" group. We are sending one Minolta 50mm manual focus lens around the world so people can take pictures with it. Check it out!

The Legal Stuff

Please note I retained all rights in 99% of the photos in my stream. That information is available on the righthand side of the photos page (below the tags). I will gladly entertain offers to sell or license pretty much any of my photos. Again: I have reserved all rights in most of the photos on my stream, so please don't use them (including on other websites) without my express written permission.

I may have a few photos in my photostream that are free for non-commercial use. That means if you want to download it for your desktop or screen saver, or even print out an 8x10 to hang on your living room wall, feel free, BUT I want to know who is using my stuff so please e-mail me first to gain my formal permission.

Additionally, there is a difference between the copyrights on my works and the privacy issues in the subjects of my photos. I have photos of myself, my family, and others in my photostream. I may have a release for some people I've photographed, I may not. What I want to make clear is that there is absolutely no permission to use the photos of me and my family under any circumstances, commercial or otherwise. It is an invasion of privacy and a violation of the use of our names and/or images.

Not trying to be a jerk about this stuff, but because we all post stuff on Flickr and elsewhere does not mean it is free to download and use whenever you feel like it.

Contacts and other such stuff

If you have arrived here because I added you as a contact, but haven't commented on anything, it may be because I took a quick peek through your photostream and liked what I saw, but just didn't have time at the moment to comment. I don't take it personally if you don't "add me" back, but would certainly welcome it. :)

Feel free to add me as a contact if you like what I post and want to check back. I try to post things weekly. The only exception is if you have nothing in your photostream available for me to see... it kinda creeps me out, especially if you are favoriting photos in my stream with kids in them (which has happened several times).
