My photography is a spin-off of my other lives as an ethnomusicologist and dancer. I take great joy in performances of all kind, and I strive to visualize the essence of my subjects in ways that capture their magic and wonder. In photographing the musical world, especially, I work to communicate the spirit of the entire performance through a single image. I am a big believer that timing is everything, and in performances especially I look hard for those moments when the performer loses him/herself in their craft.
I have only recently established this online gallery, so I must ask you to have patience as I tweak it for my viewers. Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions! I hope you enjoy my adventures in photography.
