Anna was born in Memphis TN and is now living in the Dallas TX area. She has been surrounded by music since she was born. Her father is a musician and played in various bands or at church all of her life. Her grandfather was a band director and a session player in Memphis, TN. He played on many of the Stax record sessions including projects with Elvis, Isaac Hayes, and The Box Tops just to name a few.

Anna began singing in church musicals at the age of 8 and at that age realized she really enjoyed singing and making music. She continued to sing in church and would make up songs to entertain herself, her friends, or her family.

In 2008 Anna met Matt Gaskins, a multi-instrumentalist University of North Texas graduate who began giving Anna voice, guitar, and piano lessons. Shortly after these lessons began, Anna started bringing original compositions to her lessons to share with Matt. She would have lyrics for verses, chorus, bridge and a melody for all of the parts. Matt began to play guitar and develop arrangements for her music. Anna continues to write and co-write with Matt and they have developed a great partnership for creating amazing music.

At the end of 2008, Matt Gaskins and Kelly Thomas (Anna’s aunt) opened the Neighborhood Art and Music School (NAMS) of Frisco TX where Anna continued taking lessons and had access to a studio to record her music.

Many of Anna’s original songs have been featured on various indie radio shows including Indies Top 10 and Mevio Radio. She also has had several songs in the Top Ten Pop and Rock charts on Broadjam, including the song “Trace of Light” at number one.

Anna continues to write music and is currently working on a full CD project. She and Matt also perform acoustic regularly and bring unique arrangements of music by artists such as the Beatles, Sarah Bareilles, Radiohead, and yes even a very unique arrangement of an Ozzy Osbourne classic! Using a loop station and a lot of creativity you don’t want to miss these two when they are performing their unique blend of covers and originals.
