Anna Simonovna (SihMOnovna) is my formal Russian name. If I became a teacher, that is what the Russian kids would call me. You would also call me that to show me some respeck.

The second word is a patronym, meaning my dad's name is Simon (it's Sam, actually, but it's more like Semyon in Russian). "Ovna" means "of", for gals. The better transliteration might have been Semyonovna, then. Oh well.
