Avid mountaineer and photographer from Colorado Springs, CO. I enjoy climbing mountains and then writing about the adventure. My goal is to complete the highest 100 mountains in Colorado, and that goal has been documented on my website, www.100summits.com

Photographically speaking, I started shooting in a serious way just in the past two years. I upgraded to a Nikon D7000 and a kit 18-105mm kit lens back in March, 2011 from my old Sony DSC-828, which I had for several years (and barely knew how to use in retrospect).

I am constantly trying to expand my horizons for photos, which means I take some pretty lousy shots sometimes. Every once in awhile I switch back to my bread and butter (landscapes) to keep my self-esteeem intact...

Of late, I have been experimenting with long exposures, portraits, smoke, reflections, depth of field, composites, texture-blending and other wild concepts.
