I'm never quite as happy as I am when I've got a camera in my hand. Light is my True Love, and I capture it in any form possible. I get warm and fuzzy over good composition. I often find myself looking at the world as though I am looking through a viewfinder, and I grieve over the missed photo op, when I am without my camera.
I found my inner-photographer when i got my hot pink Vivitar camera one Christmas, a long, long time ago. You know, the one with the strange small binocular looking film? In 6th grade I saved my birthday and chore money and bought my first manual focus (Minolta) 35mm, and was soon amassing bags of film monthly. I took a few classes in college, and spent many nights after class in the darkroom until it closed. I've broken a few cameras in my day. Now, I go stir crazy at work on nice days...and I save sick days for when I'm feeling inspired.
For the sake of time I have embraced digital, but I think you haven't experienced photography until you've fallen in love with one of your photos in the darkroom. Although I do appreciate and love the instant gratification and quality, there's just a slight difference in editing a photo on Photoshop. Call me old fashioned, but I love the whole process.
With that said, I have little free time to explore my creativity, so my portfolio is limited...but its not the quantity, right?
My most recent personal motto:
"Well behaved women rarely make history."
