London January

Light changes, you change, the photograph stays the same.

Hi, I'm Andy, I live in Leicestershire, England in a pretty village set in rolling countryside.

My main areas of photography that float my boat are landscape, macro and abstract although I tend to photograph anything that catches my eye or has possibilities.

I find golden hour for photography can be an excellent opportunity to clear your head as well as get decent light. Watching the sunrise at 5am back in time for coffee and toast, or heading out on a warm summers evening to engross yourself in the landscape after a busy day, you can't beat it! You can forget the flotsam and jetsam of day to day things and breath again. It does, however, have a tendency to be a juggling act of dodging the rain and keeping the camera dry. Such is the English weather! No pain, no gain so they say...

I love long exposure photography as the resulting image can give you a real sense of a time and the moment. This nearly always ends up with the viewer (you!) becoming part of the photograph.

I am self taught (apart from having an OM10 at college), always learning, always eager to know more. You never know all there is to know, but that's half the fun!

I've recently been getting more time to do landscapes and settle into a pattern of getting out into the countryside at least once a week to unwind and capture the beautiful local scenery. I just hope I do it justice.

My preference has leaned to the monochrome of late and I am really enjoying seeing light in a different way. Another string to the old bow to change ones tune again.

I add images when I can and keep this site up to date when possible. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them! Please let me know what you think and if you have any favourites.

Light changes, you change, a photograph never does.

Cheers.

Andy
