Born and lived all my life in Cheshire England, most of it on the outskirts of a small rural town bordering Derbyshire. I spent a lot of my childhood on a farm, where my love of natural history developed (especially birds). Along with my older brother, our father introduced us into the joys of bird watching, and it stuck! My brother turned up one day with a camera as a gift and that stuck too!!
A Yashica FXD, some Hoya lenses and other bits and pieces. I kept it for years, it was a superb camera and I had great fun using it (the burst rate was a bit slow, dependant on how fast you could wind the handle :-) In 2006 I became digitised (what a nightmare that was). I am retired from full time employment now and house husband to three sweetypies, Patricia (wife), Charlotte (daughter) and Nicky (aged cat), calling the latter sweetypie is questionable! Hopefully I'll have more time now for birdwatching and taking pictures. We are family members of the RSPB, WWT and a local group 'Woolston Eyes' (a real gem for birds and bug hunters paradise).

Update.
I would like to thank Mat (matsmith60) for correcting and providing ID's for some of my insect images. Also, for pointing me in the right direction for future queries.
Much appreciated Mat.
