Andy Karr is a long-time student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and other Buddhist masters. He is a teacher, writer, photographer, and also does finance work.

His first book, Contemplating Reality: A Practitioner's Guide to the View in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, was published by Shambhala Publications in April, 2007.
