Amy is an amateur photographer, mainly taking pictures in the South East of the UK. I love landscapes and bulidings, but also enjoy taking images of vehicles and, occasionally, aircraft. I have an interest in the history and stories behind my images, so indulge me if it seems I add a lot of text to my pages.

I have no desire to be a "PRO", but I reserve the copyright on my images and I won't take kindly if you use an image for commercial purposes without my consent. So, please check the copyright on my images before considering using (stealing) them for any purpose. Some of my photos are licensed under Creative Commons and you may use those for non-commerical purposes, without alteration, provided attribution is clear, including a link back to my pages on flickr.

"Testimonials sometimes seem to be exercises in grovelling - a bit like writing a job reference for someone or possibly a best man's speech?

As such, I tend not to do that many, keep em for special occasions where the photographic fare on flickr particularly appeals to me. Which is why I am sat here trying to write nice things about Amy without grovelling too much, without telling a story that would make the vicar blush or without commenting on her punctuality or sickness record.

What I like about Amy's uploads then is the history associated with her photos. A mutual contact tipped me off. Her photos are well thought out, angles and positions worked out to show off the subject against a dramatic sky and with concise notes supporting them and adding context. Photos of things historical always seem a bit pointless without some detail telling us what it is or was or what happened. Being a history nut myself, Amy's stream always gets a look in as soon as I log on.

Amy also dabbles in HDR and I particularly like the photos taken at inside English Heritage and National Trust properties and the like, using HDR to gently light up the dark corners, and highlight details which would otherwise go unnoticed...

However, this testimonial is starting to go down the grovelling route, and I haven't even mentioned her considered comments on other people's photos, book signing shots at Waterstones or her classy classic car photos. Ah well. Keep it up Amy. Dig what you do.

"Amyrey is an awesome photographer and a kind friend.

Her photos of England capture my imagination and take me off on a hitoric vacation every time she uploads a photo. The history she writes about her photos make me feel that much more like I'm standing right there looking through the camera lens myself, it really takes you there.

Her photos have almost a fairy tale feel that I have in my mind about England and shares them with the world for all to see. I almost expect to see Robin Hood pop out from behind a tree in her photos and I relish the opportunity to view them whenever I have the chance.

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures, I greatly enjoy them and I am sure that I'm not the only one.
    Cheers
