I've been taking pictures ever since I can remember. Long before digital, long before (I'm talking the modern film version ones) point and shoots became widely popular I would shoot with my dad's camera. A fully manual Canon SLR with the best lens ever. Just the right sharpness combined with perfect blurriness in the background aka bokeh. I fondly look back on all those pictures we all took (the whole family has a photography addiction).

Now that my children are growing up so rapidly, time seems to fly faster and faster and I'm so happy I took so many pictures of my oldest, when she was still a baby. They always say that as the kids grow older you take less pictures. With me however, with every picture I take, I realise how much they change. Not just in their first year, where change is really dramatic, but also still when they are a bit older. I see it with my own children. I see it with my niece who is thirteen and many friends' children. It makes me want to make more pictures each day. I want to record just the way they are at this particular moment

"I'm pretty new to view shiny[and]new's works, but each of her photos are filled with warmth and love. She lights up daily stuff, and making special out of something we easily miss. Her landscapes and still life photos are all outstanding, but what she really makes a difference is portraiture, especially child shots. I don't know how she does it, perhaps her motherly eyes are directly connected to the shutter & zoom : )
It's simply my joy to explore her photographs, but moreover I admire her passion to try new & different approach to the subjects."
