The Carnegie Corporation and Knight Foundation joined together to create the Carnegie-Knight Initiative on the Future of Journalism Education. One part of the Initiative is an innovative journalism program called News21. Graduate students and recent graduates from 8 partner schools spend a summer reporting on a specific topic. The overall theme for 2010 is "Changing America," with each school addressing a different aspect of the story. Reports will be experimental in substance and style and built for a web audience. Both mainstream and emerging news organizations are the target outlets for the reports, which will all be available at www.news21.com
