The National Museum of the American Latino Commission is a 23-member body appointed by the President of the United States and bi-partisan Congressional leaders tasked to provide a report on the creation of a potential National Museum of the American Latino. The museum would focus on American Latino art, history and culture and the Commission will report on possible sites, potential content, suggested structure/governance and fund-raising strategies. As a means to garner direct input from the public, the Commission is holding a series of forums across the country beginning in Chicago on March 27, 2010. The Commission’s final report will be sent to Congress in September 2010.
