In short, I'm an orchid-growing herpetology and entomology nut who's going for her doctorate in Neuroscience but still brakes for all manner of plants and animals.

In not so short... I was raised almost entirely outdoors by my Native American father, so I've come to have a great appreciation for all manner of plant and animal life. In my youth I worked in the Conservation Corps at my town's 500 acre nature reserve, and this has produced most of the photos in my wildlife and butterfly albums. My annual vacations to Maine supply most of the rest.
At home, I play host to several large butterfly gardens, as well as a sizeable collection of iris (bearded, siberian, japanese and louisiana) and orchids (mostly cattleya and oncidium families). Vegetable and fruit gardens, too, of course, but those remain less photographed.

I'm always happy to befriend those with similar interests!
