In a time before email, Google, and TV on Demand, thousands of women tired of closets filled with "nothing to wear" completed a questionnaire in Woman's Day Magazine. They sent in photos, more than a few pleas for help, and waited patiently by their mailboxes for personal fashion and style analysis advice from our Founder and Personal Style Expert Doris Pooser.

The time was 1989, and Always(InStyle)® "Makeover by Mail" was an instant success. Word spread quickly and the offer was repeated through QVC, Weight Watchers, and JC Penney – over 125,000 women received personalized style advice and beauty recommendations.

And it was good. Then a little thing called the Internet happened, and the rest, as they say, is history. That humble questionnaire was the basis for what is now the Always(InStyle)® Personal Profile® program, a powerful software tool that analyzes your unique characteristics and preferences and provides personalized advice and customized product recommendations – all meant to make you look and feel great, project your best image, and to help you make smart shopping decisions.

But that's not where this story ends. Doris and her team of experts have expanded the website to include loads of new features guaranteed to keep the user experience lively, entertaining, and informative.
