When I was in high school, my dad gave me a Pentax ME Super SLR camera complete with wide angle, standard, macro, and telephoto zoom lenses plus a book on taking better pictures. I became hooked to photography. While in college, and seeing my interest growing, my dad gifted me with a Contax RTS II with motor drive that came with some Carl Zeiss lenses and a dedicated flashgun bundled with a Billingham camera bag. It boosted my ego, giving me the impetus to take up courses in photography and membership with a camera club. I almost neglected my studies but my dad offered an incentive to add a Contax 167MT to my arsenal upon my graduation from the university, which I did, and he did. With the passing of years, I saw my camera system built up.

As a hobbyist, I have been fortunate to garner awards in on the spot photo contests and in other competitions that are usually held every year in my country.

I’m quite new in digital photography and it's an eye-opener. As a beginner, I used a FujiFinepix S5000 and just recently acquired my first DSLR, a Nikon D70, which I'm presently trying out.

I work fulltime as a sales officer with a telecomm company but photography, as a song goes, is “always on my mind.”
