"The "Throw Away Comments" series features typographic, fundamental social commentary with artistic disobedience. Certainly worth viewing."

    ShaleyRenee. says:

"Alshepmcr is fabulously creative and all of his art and ideas are eye-catching and bold. They not only grip your attention, but they also grab on and seem to attach to your mind. The ideas behind the words are raw and ring true to the hearts of many, including myself. One especially just caught my attention and stuck in my head for quite some time; I didn't think anyone else would even get close to thinking in the same way. His medium and simple ways of composing his pieces are mind-blowing. Simplicity, wonder, awe and greatness are very hard to come by in a single piece, though alshepmcr can produce all of this and more in a single picture. It's amazing."

    c-patterson says:

"I met alshepmcr in a branch of Debenhams once.
    It was raining…well, only outside.
He was having the all-day breakfast in the café next to the lingerie section.
I’d been stalking him all through Household Goods and Kitchenware, losing him briefly in Bedding and Soft-furnishings only to catch up with him again as he emerged past a rail of outsize corsets en-route to his mid morning snack.

“ Oi, Mister…what’s with the boxes ?”, I asked…”the cryptic cleverness of your messages ?”
he became defensive, but I think that’s because I was looking longingly at his hash browns…
“you should exhibit, you should publish” I went on. “people dig this, people want to…see more…know more…want to….NO…NEED to understand.”
With toast crumbs clinging precariously to the side of his mouth, he mumbled something about a one trick pony.
“did you ever see a pony REALLY do a trick, DID YOU” I snapped…”how fucking BRILLIANT is that”
My creeping hunger brought on by the sight of his hot sausage...and my journalistic exasperation were meeting head on.
“Status fucking Quo are one trick ponies… but MASTERS of that one magical trick”
I almost got through, but using the words MAGICAL and Status Quo in the same sentence…well, I just blew it there and then.
It was hard after that to take anything seriously…photographic images of wonderfully butchered and bastardized boxes included.

Back outside to the rain and the meaningless quest for truth…and boxes."

"Alshepmcr's work is, in a word, brilliant. The way he manipulates and distorts language is provocative, edgy and delightfully dark."

    peterbappleton says:

"alshepmcr's art evokes the passion and confusion involved in the process of creating truly intuitive art. It is real and "in your face" adding to its power to allow the viewer some peeks into the the hyper-creativity of the stable and not so stable conscious states of the psyche. Throw Away Comments and Positive Symptoms both reflect such delicate balances. Better be sitting down when viewing alshepmcr's photostream, also keep an open mind and open eyes. Great art here."

"ART should make you think. It should challenge you to consider your dislikes, as much as your likes. It should touch your soul, and inspire discussion.
I admire anyone who has the courage to be honest, and whos message is more precious than the art itself.
After all, we never really own our art, we are custodians of it, for a time.
Al please keep doing what you do. It is 'honest' art, and you rock my friend!!"
