ولدت في مدينة السلام بغداد. عندما كان الحب يعانق أجراس كنائسها وكان الحمام يزور مأذنها كل صبـاح. تعلمت من أبي كيف نتذوق الفــن ونحن نرتشف أقداح الشـاي الممزوج بعطـر الهيـل وروائح الألوان الزيتيـة في مرسمه

Je suis né à Bagdad (la ville de paix), Quand l'amour embrasse les clochers de ses églises et quand les colombes visitent ses minarets chaque matin. J'ai appris de mon père, comment apprécier l'art en dégustant le thé parfumé de cardamome et l'odeur de peinture à l'huile dans son atelier.

I was born in Baghdad (the city of peace), When the love embraces the bell-towers of its churches and when the doves visit its minarets each morning.I learned from my father, how to appreciate art by tasting the scented tea of cardamome and the odor of oil-base paint in his workshop.
