What Flower Are You?


A wise man once told me "You can't change a person’s normal character." I am weird, silly, crafty, over the top, can build the best Lego tower ever, fastest kid in school and can scare you to death with spooky stories. I can come up with things on the fly and dance a mean fox trot. String up fish then gut 'em for dinner, knee ski, water ski and snow ski. I don't eat just PB & J's anymore, I doodle and yodel when I am suppose to be cleaning. Even numbers and everything organized alphabetically is a trait I must have gotten from granny, I memorize phone numbers, play puzzles and try to break codes. Before I die I want to see the Taj Mahal, Mt. Everest, walk the Appalachian Trail and pilot a hot air balloon around the world. I love my John and Kelly to the deepest of my soul and I would give my life for them to live.


Wife and mother who loves to knit, crochet, sew, read and play food network in my kitchen. Collector of stamps, coins, bookmarks, cookbooks, paper, fabric, patterns, pictures and bags. Dances to Elvis, deals a mean hand of poker and drools over old cars & trucks. I have been accused of being too old for my time and a secret millionaire. I never turn a person down who needs something, I am a giver. My husband Big John says I can now packrat everything into the new crafting studio. Nascar and pulling weeds are exciting. Watching my girl play softball and do her homework make me proud. I have changed my attitude in life lately due to almost losing everything in a flood of my home wrapping up projects to complete me and pass onto my girl as I will eventually live on through her. I love my family to the deepest of my soul.

This last year (2011) has been the worst, losing my Mother & Father in laws, just could not seem to pull it together. My family came first anything else just didn't matter right then. I did knit a scarf in the waiting room; maybe, just maybe I could begin to get creative again. I am putting one foot in front of the other sometimes with my eyes closed.


Fly Birdie Studio is a welcome addition to our home. Through classes, books, garden excursions and blogs I am learning fresh ideas and enjoying life. I do sell stuff on Etsy occasionally to help fund my next project or a charity. I have raised over $2,500 for the Ronald McDonald house, $200 for Cancer (colon), sent many packages to troops over seas and currently send magazines & books to women in prison who I think were wrongly convicted of domestic violence. I firmly believe in pay it forward and Karma. I always take time to comment on other's works and have never said an ill word to anyone, so please be respectful and courtesy does apply here on my photostream. There is no ryme or reason only delightful snapshots from a moment in my life.
