I'm not a photographer nor plan to be one. Flickr is a way for me to share with friends and relatives my family adventures. I have three active boys all liberated from cable TV and video games. We do a lot of hiking, about 100-120 miles with 20,000 ft of elevation gain the since 2005.

Other than hiking, we love to travel. Other outdoor interests of mine that I am in the process of sharing with my kids are mountaineering and marathons. My wife loves the outdoors but it is not her passion. She likes ballroom dancing instead.

I dont like backpacking. If possible, I'd rather do an extreme dayhike, meaning no sleep for 24-30 hours like the Western States 100 Endurance Race or a dayhike of Mt. Whitney. My passion is not necessary mountaineering but anything at high altitude whether hiking or mountain climbing. I love the feeling of coming back to sea level from a 14ner. Only California and Washington have that luxury. Colorado has plenty of 14ners but not the sea level finish.
